Studio Ai button missing

I have KeyShot Studio 2025.2. and tried with re-install etc … but still there’s no Ai button! Is there something else I need to change?

Hi @remko.de.wit - sorry that you’re not finding AI Shots!

It should be at the bottom right corner of the interface. You can see it in action here, what it should look like. https://youtu.be/Z9yNxiey8Zk?si=zi1Ve0VxIN8n4xFi

There are also some tips in the manual: AI Shots

I’m assuming you haven’t already looked at these, but if you have, I can look into this further for you. If you can send a screenshot of what you’re seeing as well, that would be great.

Thnx for the tips but still not working. I think that a floating license server can’t be the problem, right?

Hi Remko,

I think that a floating license server can’t be the problem, right?

This is in fact the issue. AI Shots is a subscription-only feature. You need a valid subscription license to access and use it. It is not available for floating, nor node-locked licenses.

Is there a way I can solve it for myself, or is that something for Philips?

Hi Remko,

If Philips is the administrator of your KeyShot Studio license, then they will have to provide you with a subscription license. I don’t know how far Philips is with converting KeyShot licenses to subscription… Maybe that’s worth finding out

That being said, you can get a trial with the AI tools available here.

At least then you can try it out and see if it’s worth it for your workflows.

Wow, a subscription only feature… If the AI ran in the cloud I could see an argument to why it would be subscription only, since Keyshot would have a running cost for the servers. But this move is just a way to persuade/force customers to move away from licenses. Keyshot starts to look more and more like Autodesk and Adobe.

Hi Dries, not spoken in a while!
Any chance you can get the powers that be to turn this on for these licenses on active maintenance? How can we properly evaluate this using a trial?
What we are discussing here is whether or not companies choose to stay with Luxion or use the impending forced move to subscriptions as a way to test other platforms. If Luxion turn off the AI tools it kind of spits in our faces and doesn’t make us think Luxion is a company that wants us to stay. Also in larger installs, you need to go to the bean counters and justify staying with a tool you have to pay more for. So how can these people justify it if they can’t see these tools?
